Katsushige Anryu has been a blacksmith for over 50 years. He apprenticed under his father. He is incredibly meticulous. We love his shapes. His knives are incredibly thin, great taper, and awesome finishes.
Anryu-San layers soft iron to make damascus pattern the forge welds it to the Shirogami core. It makes this knife have a beautiful pattern on the bevels.
Anryu Knives are now made by Katsushige Anryu-San's nephew Takumi Ikeda. He has been studying with his uncle for over 10 years, and forges other blades like the Tinker Tank.
