Slurry will develop but a nagura stone is recommended to aid in creating some slurry. This stone is great for knives, razors, and tools. These stones are mined in Kyoto Japan. Natural whetstones wear much slower then synthetic stones. This stone will last years if not tens of years.
Koppa means shard. Koppa stones are usually off size stones. It is a nice size, large enough for a knife as well as a razor. This stone is a very cost effect chance to try out a natural stone for a beginner or someone on a budget. Kumori stones especially Kumori Suitas are often used at pre finisher. The word Kumori means cloudy.
Yes these stones aren't the best Looking but i assure you a little lapping, some lacquer to seal, and mount to wood if necessary. Any Jnat collector knows the rarity of these stones even small Kopp like this. Mined out of Kyoto.
